Ship Weight may reasonably be considered a ship statistic, but unlike most such statistics, this information is only visible under the Shipyard tab. Ship Weight is inversely proportionate to ship speed; as of a post-Diamond update, greater Ship Weight noticeably results in a lower base speed, requiring higher Engine Power (and thus higher Fuel consumption) to compensate, whereas lighter ships may require less in the way of Engine Power and Fuel.
