A council of joy is a Sunless Sea Story Event.

A council of joy is triggered after completing The Secret of the Nocturne, returning to Saviour's Rocks and selecting Report back to the Web of Stone.

"The sorrow-spiders have reconvened to hear of your progress. A stench of impatience fills the air."

Overview[edit | edit source]

This represents approximately the halfway mark in the Story of Saviour's Rocks. You've done Festival Preparations at Saviour's Rocks port of Nativity, visited The Web of Stone, attended A council of sorrow, been to The Wreck of the Nocturne and uncovered The Secret of the Nocturne, and returned here. And, if you've been reading all the text, along the way you've seen some incredibly creepy stuff.

Interactions[edit | edit source]

Unlike the previous council, A council of sorrow, there's a little more choice here. A few times, you can only pick one of two options (although it won't affect the story at all). At the end, you have a chance to request help from the Captain of the Nocturne, requiring a medium Pages or Iron check. Succeeding here will make the upcoming fight significantly easier, so take a risk, you have nothing to lose by trying to get him.

Refuse "An angry chattering fills the air" You can only Agree or Refuse, not both. Refusal won't actually end the story.
Negotiate for the Captain of the Nocturne Failure Pick the best chance you have to get the Captain, you only get one shot.
