Overlap[]
Technically, "Temple of Labours" is the name of the market tab in Polythreme, while Temple of Chimes is the name of the shop itself. I've been considering how to deal with ports that have separate names for 1) the market that contains all of the shops and 2) the individual shops themselves, and for the brand-new ones I've had occasion to add to the wiki, what I've done is place the market name and description into the Category:Whatever page for that port's shops (e.g., Category:Khan's Shadow shops). - Yes, the situation is also very clear in Iron Republic. My opinion is that it is necessary to create a "Markets" page for each port, while leaving the Shops as they are. On this new Market page there can be a list of all the available shops in that port. S3Ld0m (talk) 18:55, 16 January 2015 (UTC)
- The question then arises: should the separate Market pages be named according to whatever the game calls them (Temple of Labours, The Freemarket, etc.) or follow in the footsteps of pages like Iron Republic shops or Whither shops, not giving name directly? At first glance the content seems redundant with category pages, but if they are named after whatever the game calls them, I can see that being very beneficial to users who perhaps only remember the name of the market, and not the shop, when they go looking something up. My instinct in such cases is to solve with thorough lemmas/synonyms (read: redirects), but I'm not sure if that would hit some kind of critical anti-cruft threshold. -Sinegenere (talk) 19:06, 16 January 2015 (UTC)
- Sorry about that, I figured there was a page. Clearly I was searching for the wrong thing. It can be deleted and perhaps just a redirect added for locations with only one shop like Polythreme. --Whikloj (talk) 19:02, 16 January 2015 (UTC)
