Obtaining

Stygian Ivory can be obtained in several ways, including:

• Buying from the Chelonate at Uncle Ankle's Lean Place for 26 echoes apiece or from Khan's Shadow for 27.
• With a Zubmarine, buying from Nook at The Yawning Maw for 26 echoes apiece or The Gant Pole for  -3 x Tale of Terror!!.
  • If Nook or Chelonate spawn near Polythreme, this becomes a decent "trade opportunity" (as far as those go), you could even cycle it if you use the nearby Dahut for terror and supplies. However shop-to-shop trade in general is not a profitable way to spend time in Sunless Sea. You're generally better off hunting monsters and doing port report runs. Trading is something you do a bit of along the way if don't have a better use for your cargo space at the time.

Usage

Potential uses include:

• 7 are needed for one of the Merchant Venturer's requests.
• 7 are needed to build Icarus in Black in the Iron Republic.
• 40 are needed for the Tireless Mechanic's storyline.
• Can be traded for profit, either Echoes, Tales of Terror or Lamentable Relics
